COMPASS POINT POLICIES

What is included in the cost of the trip … unless otherwise specified in the trip description, all transportation, meals, supervision and activities are included. The price does not include personal spending money or incidental expenditures. Trip prices and itineraries are subject to change due to airline surcharges or tour changes beyond our control.  Click below to downloads our forms.

Payment Schedule
Overnight trips require a 300.00 deposit. No reservation will be confirmed without a deposit. All overnight Vacations must be paid in full 90 days before departure. Day trips must be paid in full 10 business days before the activity. Payment plans and spend down options are available.

Check in/ Check out
Travelers are expected to be at the assigned pick up or drop off location at the scheduled time. It is necessary to be prompt in order to review medications and any pertinent information. Excessive lateness which results in a trip delay will cause the traveler to forfeit his spot and incur any fees associated therein. Upon return it is expected that the caretaker be at the assigned drop off location on time. Any expenses incurred due to caretaker lateness will be the responsibility of the traveler.

Conduct
Compass Point reserves the right to expel any participant who impinges of the ability of others to enjoy the activity. In addition, any participant whose behavior poses a threat to others will be expelled and any costs which result are the responsibility of the participant. These may include staff hours, transportation, and any and all fees that are a result of vandalism or stolen property.

Cancellations
We make every effort to accommodate each traveler and their needs. We understand that unexpected circumstances do arise. In the event of a cancellation we will work to fill the spot. Cancellations made 90 days before trip departure will be reimbursed minus any non refundable costs. If the cancellation is made after the 90 days we will grant a credit minus any fees that cannot be refunded such as airline tickets. Cancellations made within 30 days of the trip is non refundable. Cancellation of day trips must be done 10 business day prior to the activity date.

In the event of circumstances outside of our contrul such as; weather, flight cancelations, natural disasters, pandemics, etc., we will do everything we can to rescedule the events. Credits will be applied for those that cannot attend the rescheduled date. 

Supervision
Safety is our prime concern. We staff our activities at 1 staff for every 4 travelers. We expect that each person who signs up for a trip can operate within that ratio. If extra help or supervision is needed it is the responsibility of the caretaker to be specific in the needs and abilities of the participant. Any problems that arise from the misrepresentation of a person’s independence or lack thereof will result in additional fees. Extra staff is available for travelers who would benefit from individual service.  

Medication
Medication is required to be in it's original packing and instructions must accumpany them. If they are independent with medication administration, a form must be signed and given at the time of drop off, you can find this form under "Forms" in the dropdown menu. Any additional equipment such as breathing machines and blood sugar monitors are to be provided by the participant. A medication form needs to be filled out and returned for any overnight trip, this can be found under "Forms" in the dropdown menu. 

Medical/Social History Forms- This form is to be filled out in its entirety and copies of medical cards, identification and medication are to be attached. This form is must be received no less than 30 day prior to a trip departure. Updates are to be made when necessary. This form can be found under "Forms" in the dropdown menu.

Lost Items
Compass Point is not responsible for lost items. We request that you leave any unnecessary items at home.

Spending Money
Compass point will help travelers who need assistance with purchases. All receipts for these items will be given to the participant. All spending money should be logged at the time of departure. If a traveler keeps their money on their person, it is their responsiblility to keep track of it. 

Insurance
Compass Point is fully insured. Personal Travel insurance is available upon request.

Identification
All travelers are required to have a State issued ID. Airline travel requires that all participants have a valid REAL ID (as of October 2021) and that the name on the ID is accurate with the name Compass Point has on file. Any costs that arise from an ID that is invalid will be the sole responsibility of the participant. This may include the inability to board a flight. All international flights require a valid Passport.

Transportation Delays

Delays in transportation including but not limited to transfers, bus or airline, may occur. In the event that a delay causes a need for an overnight stay, additional staffing or meals, any associated fees may be assessed to the travel as deemed necessary by the director. Any vouchers credited during the trip become the property of Compass Point. This includes meal, travel or lodging credits.

Airfare & Baggage Fees

Airfare and baggage fees are not included in the cost of the trip. After the tickets are reserved, the traveler will be notified of the price and if there is a baggage fee.


Copies of our Risk Management Policy, HIPAA Policy , Grievance Procedure and Incident Management Policy are all available upon request.
